La Guinguette

Jean-Emile Laboureur (1877-1943), La Guinguette (open air cafe), etching and drypoint, 1925, signed in pencil lower left [also with the monogram in the plate lower right]; also numbered 23/60 (possibly not by Laboureur). Reference: Laboureur 299, fourth state (of 4), from the edition of about 60-65 impressions in this state (another 24 or so in earlier states). In very good condition, the full sheet with margins, 4 1/4 x 3 3/8, the sheet 7 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches.

Provenance: HM Petiet (with his blindstamp, Lugt 2021a)

A fine impression, with the Mannerist figures Laboureur employed at this time: the woman (waitress?) center, and the couple having a drink at right.
