Frederic Taubes (1900-1981), Julia, c. 1950, etching and aquatint, signed in pencil lower right. Published by Associated American Artists, and still in their (acidic) mat, with their label. In good condition, printed on a cream wove paper with margins, 10 x 7 7/8, the sheet 13 x 11.

A fine impression, printed in a brownish/black ink.

Frederic Taubes began studying art as a child in Austria, continued in Vienna at the outbreak of WWI, became one of the Weimar Bauhaus group, and later traveled widely, eventually settling in the US, teaching in Honolulu and San Francisco,  and becoming the artist in residence at the University of Wisconsin.
