<p>Frank E. Bliss (with his stamp verso, Lugt 265. Bliss was the author of a catalogue raisonne of the Legros prints).</p>
<p>Collection of the Artist.  The following is written on the mat: &#8220;Ex library Deigton 16/12/09. The proof bought from Deighton was subsequently exchanged Legros for the proof in the artist&#8217;s Private Collection.&#8221;</p>
<p>A fine lightly printed impression, printed with a layer of plate tone.</p>
<p>It is also noted on the mat &#8220;Rare only 10 proofs.&#8221;</p>
<p>The wheelwright is apparently shaping wheels or related implements from the wood being brought to him by the woman to his left.</p>

<p>The British Museum entitles their impression Un Vagabond Passant dans une Ruelle.</p>
