Honore Daumier (1808-1879), Bonsoir Cherie, lithograph, 1839-42 [with the initials, title, lettering in the plate]. Reference: Delteil, Daumier Register 663, second state (of 3). Plate number 40 from the series Moeurs Conjugales, a sur blanc impression, on wove paper without the lettering verso, 11 1/2 x 8, the sheet 13 1/2 x 10 1/4 inches. In good condition, a tiny fox mark in image, remains of prior hining verso.

A very good impression of this evocative, yet humorous image.

This plate was included in the Album Moeurs Conjugales (1839-1942), and published in the journal Le Charivari in 1842.
